GUT DYSFUNCTION, IBS, AND IBD
Bloating, pain, and unpredictable bathrooms are not a diagnosis.
They are a symptom with a dozen possible causes.
You plan your life around your gut, which foods to fear, which bathrooms are safe. Maybe you were told it is IBS, handed a fiber supplement, and sent on your way. Maybe every test came back clean while you still feel miserable every single day.
Bloating, pain, irregularity, and reflux are not the problem, they are signals, and they can come from a dozen completely different causes, each needing a completely different fix. IBS often just means your doctor confirmed something is wrong but could not find what. Finding what is exactly the work.
Why your gut is actually struggling .
Your digestion is a sequence, and a breakdown at any single step creates symptoms that can feel almost identical to a completely different cause.
These are the causes I sort between.
Too little stomach acid, not too much. Most people assume reflux and indigestion mean too much acid, so they suppress it, but low stomach acid leaves food half broken down, which ferments and pushes back up as reflux.
Weak digestion from low enzymes or sluggish bile. Low enzymes or sluggish bile leave food poorly broken down, especially fats and proteins, causing bloating and heaviness.
The wrong bacteria, in the wrong place. Dysbiosis or SIBO ferments your food into gas, bloating, and distention within hours of eating, and standard testing rarely looks for it.
Motility that moves too slow or too fast. This is frequently downstream of thyroid, stress, or nervous system issues, which is why the gut is never truly separate from the rest of you.
A gut barrier that has become too permeable. Particles slip into the bloodstream, triggering inflammation that can show up far from the gut, as fatigue, skin problems, joint pain, or brain fog.
A gut nervous system stuck in stress. This amplifies pain and disrupts digestion, which is why purely dietary fixes never fully work for many people, especially with IBS.
A genuinely inflamed or immune driven gut. With IBD, Crohn’s, and colitis, this deserves real medical management, alongside upstream repair of the gut barrier, microbiome, and immune triggers.
Your gut symptoms are not one condition, they are a sequence with a broken link, and the exact link is yours.
Why probiotics and cutting foods only got you so far.
The standard playbook, a probiotic, cutting gluten and dairy, more fiber, managing stress, helps just enough to keep you guessing and never enough to fix it. A probiotic is the wrong tool if your real problem is low stomach acid or sluggish motility. Cutting foods shrinks your diet without addressing why you became reactive, and adding fiber to bacterial overgrowth can make bloating worse. Generic advice is a coin flip because it’s never aimed at your specific broken link.
What I actually do.
I do not guess, and I do not hand you the same protocol I hand everyone. I figure out where in the chain your digestion is actually breaking down.
I run the testing to see it, not a basic panel: comprehensive stool analysis mapping bacterial balance, overgrowth, digestion, and gut barrier integrity, breath testing for SIBO when indicated, and markers of inflammation and food reactivity, read against optimal.
Then I work in sequence, because the gut heals in order: support acid, enzymes, and bile where they’re low, restore healthy motility, address overgrowth strategically, repair the gut barrier, and calm the gut brain connection, since a gut stuck in stress won’t heal no matter what you take.
The nutrition, to calm and rebuild the gut.
The gut is where rigid food rules do the most quiet harm. An endlessly shrinking list of safe foods is a frightened gut, not a healthy one. My goal is always the smallest necessary change, then rebuilding tolerance, not permanent restriction. Strategic, short term reductions calm overgrowth as a tool for a season, then the diet widens back out as the gut heals, supported by testing rather than fear.
The training, matched to a stressed gut.
Gentle, regular movement like walking genuinely helps, stimulating healthy motility and calming the stressed state that suppresses digestion. Strength training stays in at an appropriate scale, but I’m careful with extreme, high stress exercise during an active flare, since hammering an inflamed system can worsen both the inflammation and the symptoms.
The arsenal behind the work.
Most people treating a bad gut reach for a probiotic and an elimination diet. I have a clinical arsenal, and I bring the right pieces to what your testing actually shows.
I investigate aggressively. Not a basic panel. I can pull from more than three thousand testing options: comprehensive stool and microbiome analysis, SIBO breath testing, inflammation and food reactivity markers, nutrient status, and toxin and mold screening.
Hormone optimization, built around you. Coordinated hormone optimization, since thyroid and stress hormones shape motility.
Personalized, compounded medications, made for you. Built for your gut’s specific needs, whether that’s motility, overgrowth, or barrier repair.
Peptide therapy. Signaling tools for barrier repair and inflammation, matched to your goal and passed through at wholesale.
Targeted supplementation and gut repair. Staged as the core of the work, all prescribed and monitored by licensed physicians across all fifty states.
Regenerative and advanced therapies. When a case calls for it, I coordinate access to the deeper end of the toolkit, the regenerative, recovery, and longevity therapies most clinics never touch, through the providers and pharmacies I work with directly.
Not one tool applied to everyone. The right instruments out of a deep arsenal, sequenced in the order that actually works.
What changes.
When the real broken link is repaired, your gut stops running your life. The bloating eases, the bathroom stops dictating your day, and often the energy, skin, mood, and brain fog lift with it, because so much of whole body health was being dragged down by a gut no one had properly investigated.
This is the work of my flagship, the Complete Vitality Program. An IBS label and a fiber supplement was the end of someone else’s search. It’s the beginning of mine.
