What It Is
TA-1 (Thymosin Alpha-1) is a naturally occurring 28-amino acid peptide derived from the thymus gland. It is the active component of thymosin fraction 5 and is FDA-approved in over 35 countries for immune modulation. It is one of the most clinically validated immunomodulatory peptides available.
What It Does
TA-1 modulates and strengthens immune function, enhances T-cell activity, improves response to vaccines and infections, reduces chronic inflammation, and has been used clinically for hepatitis B and C, cancer, and sepsis. It is particularly valuable for people with immune dysregulation, autoimmune conditions, or chronic infections.
How It Works
TA-1 activates dendritic cells and T-helper cells, enhances natural killer cell activity, promotes Th1 immune responses, and modulates inflammatory cytokine production. It essentially helps the immune system distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate responses, making it useful for both immunodeficiency and autoimmune conditions.
Who Benefits Most
People with autoimmune disease, chronic infections, or immune dysregulation. People with Lyme disease, chronic viral infections, or post-viral syndromes. Cancer patients undergoing treatment who want immune support. People who get sick frequently or have poor vaccine responses. Anyone with chronic inflammation.
Protocol and Dosing
Typical dose: 1.6 mg injected subcutaneously twice weekly. Cycle length: 4 to 12 weeks depending on the condition being addressed. Can be used longer term for chronic immune support.
| Vial Format | Total mg | 1.6 mg dose |
|---|---|---|
| Standard vial | 5 mg | 0.32 mL / 32 units (reconstituted with 1 mL BAC water) |
Cautions
Excellent safety profile with decades of clinical use. Well tolerated at standard doses. Not recommended during pregnancy. Use with caution in organ transplant recipients on immunosuppressive therapy.
Pairs Well With
BPC-157 for gut and systemic repair alongside immune modulation. KPV for additional anti inflammatory and gut-specific immune support. Glutathione for antioxidant support alongside immune optimization.
