What It Is
KPV is a tripeptide (Lysine-Proline-Valine) derived from the C-terminal end of alpha-MSH. It retains the anti inflammatory properties of alpha-MSH without the melanocortin receptor activation that produces tanning and sexual effects. It is one of the most targeted anti inflammatory peptides available.
What It Does
KPV reduces systemic and local inflammation, heals the gut lining, reduces intestinal permeability (leaky gut), improves symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, reduces skin inflammation, and has antimicrobial properties. It is particularly effective for gut-based inflammation and autoimmune conditions with a gut component.
How It Works
KPV enters cells and travels directly to the nucleus where it inhibits NF-kB, the master regulator of inflammatory gene expression. This intracellular mechanism is different from most anti inflammatory compounds, which work extracellularly. It also inhibits inflammatory cytokines including IL-1, IL-6, and TNF-alpha.
Who Benefits Most
People with IBD, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or leaky gut. People with autoimmune conditions that have a gut component. Anyone with chronic systemic inflammation. People with skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema. Anyone looking to reduce inflammatory burden as part of a functional medicine protocol.
Protocol and Dosing
